A FAST START.
Repeated lightning delays interrupted the action after kickoff, but Lorena stayed composed and delivered a 42–6 statement win over Lago Vista in Jeff Pevehouse's debut as head coach and athletic director.
THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT.
Friday night's game began on schedule, but multiple lightning delays repeatedly forced both teams from the field. Lorena never lost its focus. With a new head coach and athletic director at the helm, the Leopards opened the Jeff Pevehouse era with a convincing 42–6 victory over the Lago Vista Vikings.

BLANCETT
Blancett controlled an efficient night from start to finish. The Lorena quarterback completed 10 of 17 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown, then added 94 yards and two more scores on eight carries.
He also handled punting duties twice for 55 total yards, including a long of 30, giving the Leopards production in every phase.
PLAYMAKERS ANSWERED. Wide receiver Konnor Johnson delivered a stellar opening-night performance and punctuated it with a touchdown. His early impact helped give Lorena's offense another dependable option as the Leopards created separation.
DEFENSE SET THE STANDARD. Mason Sears anchored the defensive line as Lorena limited Lago Vista to one touchdown. Sophomore Elam Harris made his presence felt on both sides of the ball, highlighted by a sack, forced fumble and fumble recovery returned for a touchdown.
A POWERFUL RETURN. Back after a year away from football, running back Clark Brown made his return count. Brown powered through short-yardage situations for two bruising touchdowns in his first game back.
Lorena's motto for the season was visible throughout the opener. Through repeated weather stoppages, each unit handled its assignment—disciplined offense, opportunistic defense and steady execution under new leadership.
